インド、スリランカそれにアフリカが原産です。成長が早く、高さは１～２メートルほどになります。葉は薄く、卵形からほとんど円形をしています。周年、白色から淡い黄色、藤色から紫色などの筒状花を咲かせます。この雑草の導入により、特にマレーシアやインドネシア、太平洋諸島では自然生息地に深刻な障害が発生しています。台湾華語では「小花寬葉馬偕花」。別名で「せきどうさくらそう（赤道桜草）」とも呼ばれます。 |

キツネノマゴ科アシスタシア属の常緑小低木で、学名は Asystasia gangetica (syn. Asystasia gangetica ssp. micrantha)。英名は Chinese violet。 |

The Chinese violet (Asystasia gangetica) belongs to Acanthaceae (the Acanthus family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to India, Sri Lanka and Africa. It grows quickly, reaching a height of 1-2 m. The leaves are thin and ovate to almost circular. It produces tubular flowers that range from white to pale yellow, wisteria to purple, and other colors throughout the year. The introduction of this weed has caused serious disturbance to natural habitats, particularly in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Pacific islands. In Taiwanese Chinese, it is called "小花寬葉馬偕花". |
