わが国の本州、関東地方北部から東北地方南部に分布しています。山地の林内に生え、高さは４５〜８５センチになります。葉は３中裂して縁には粗い鋸歯、長い葉柄があります。９月から１０月ごろ、花茎の先に円錐花序をだし、小さな白色の頭花を咲かせます。頭花にはただひとつの両性の筒状花があります。

キク科コウヤボウキ属の多年草で、学名は Pertya triloba。英名はありません。

"Oyari-haguma" (Pertya triloba) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from northern Kanto district to southern Tohoku district. This herb grows in mountane forests and can reach 45-85 cm in height. The leaves are intermediate trilobate, coarse serrated with long petioles. The panicles are borne at the tips of flowering stalks and bloom small white flower-heads from September to October. The flower-head consists of lonely bisexual tubular flower.
