The whorled water-pennywort (Hydrocotyle verticillata var. triradiata) belongs to Apiaceae (the Carrot family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to North America. This herb grows in swamps or bogs and can reach 10-30 cm in height. The round leaves with long petioles are borne on the water surface. The small white flowers come in June through October.
