べにうちわ (紅団扇) [Index] [Back] コスタリカが原産です。山地の雨林に生え、着生もしくは地生します。葉は長楕円形から楕円形で革質、長さは２５センチ幅８センチほどになります。葉の両面は、ごく小さく暗い腺点があります。仏炎苞は緋色から橙赤色で広卵形、長さは８〜１０センチです。肉穂花序は橙赤色でふつう上方に巻き、８センチくらいの長さになります。果実はオレンジ色から赤色です。写真は園芸品種の「ロスチャイルディアヌム（cv. Rothschildianum）」。  サトイモ科ベニウチワ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Anthurium scherzerianum。英名は Flamingo plant。  The flamingo plant (Anthurium scherzerianum) belongs to Araceae (the Arum family). It is an evergreen herb that is native to Costa Rica. This herb grows in montane rainforest, and grow on trees (as an epiphyte) or on the ground (terrestrial). The leaves are oblong to elliptic, leathery, up to 25 cm long and 8 cm wide. Both sides of the leaf blade are dotted with minute dark glands. The spathe is scarlet to orange-red and broadly oval, 8-10 cm long. The spadix is orange-red, usually coiled upward and may be up to 8 cm long. The fruits are orange to red.
