Fritillaria meleagris

ヨーロッパが原産です。湿った草地や牧草地などに生え、高さは15〜30センチになります。鱗茎は丸く、有毒なアルカロイドが含まれます。3月から5月ごろ、紫色ときに純白の花を咲かせます。花披片の内側には、紫色の網目模様があります。花後、地上部はすぐに枯死して、長い休眠に入ります。
ユリ科バイモ属の多年草で、学名は Fritillaria meleagris。英名は Snake's head。
The snake's head (Fritillaria meleagris) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Europe. This herb grows in damp meadows and pastures, and can reach 15-30 cm in height. The bulb is round and has poisonous alkaloids. The purple, sometimes pure white flowers bloom March to May. The tepales have purple netted patches on insides. Following bloom, the terrestrials are blighted soon and enter a long period of dormancy.
