わが国の本州から四国・九州に分布する「えいざんすみれ(Viola eizanensis)」と各地に分布する「あかねすみれ(Viola phalacrocarpa)」との自然交雑種です。この両種が近距離に分布する場所に、突発的に発生します。葉は三角状心形で縁が深く切れ込むのが特徴です。4月から5月ごろ、淡い紫色の花を咲かせます。
スミレ科スミレ属の多年草で、学名は Viola eizanensis x Viola phalacrocarpa。英名はありません。 
"Fugire-akane-sumire" (Viola eizanensis x Viola phalacrocarpa) belongs to Violaceae (the Viola family). It is a perennial herb that is a natural hybrid between "Eizan-sumire" (Viola eizanensis) distributed from Honshu to Shikoku and Kyushu and "Akane-sumire" (Viola phalacrocarpa) distributed in various parts of Japan. It occurs suddenly in a place where both species are distributed in a short distance. The leaves are triangular heart-shaped and are characterized by deep cuts at the edges. The pale purple flowers come in April to May.
