メキシコからベリーズ、グアテマラに分布しています。茎や葉は柔らかな毛に被われ、光にかざすとキラキラします。5個の花弁と5個の萼片からなるピンク色の花を咲かせます。果実は5センチほどの楕円形で、食用になります。1890年、パーマー(E. Palmer)によって発見されました。 
トケイソウ科トケイソウ属の常緑低木で、学名は Passiflora palmeri。英名は Baja passion flower。 
The Baja passion flower (Passiflora palmeri) belongs to Passifloraceae (the Passion flower family). It is a small evergreen tree that is distributed from Mexico to Belize and Guatemala. The stems and leaves are covered with soft hairs that sparkle in the light, and it produces pink flowers with five petals and five sepals. The fruits are edible and elliptic in shape, about 5 cm long. It was discovered by English botanist Edward Palmer in 1890.
