オーストラリアのクイーンズランド州が原産です。多年草または小低木ですが、気温の低いところでは一年草となります。樹木の下などの半日陰を好みます。高さは９０センチくらいになり、ビロードのような灰色の葉が特徴です。９月から１０月ごろ、小さな筒状花を咲かせます。花色は白色から青みがかった藤色をしています。

The silver spurflower (Plectranthus argentatus) belongs to Lamiaceae (the Mint family). It is an evergreen perennial or shrub that is native to Australia; Queensland. It has not cold resistance. This herb grows in semi-shade places and can reach about 90 cm in height. The leaves are ovate and velvety gray. The small tubular flowers come in September and October. The flower-color is white to bluish-violet.
