 アドリア海に面したクロアチアのダルマチア地方が原産です。成長が
早く、地下茎で広がります。根元からよく分枝して、高さは１５〜３０セ
ンチほどになります。６月から１１月ごろまで、星形をした藤色の小さ
な花を咲かせます。種小名は１９世紀のドイツの園芸家「グスタフ・ポ
シャルスキー（Gustav Poscharsky）」に因みます。写真中２・下は、園
芸品種の「アルペンブルー（cv. Alpine Blue）」。
キキョウ科ホタルブクロ属の多年草で、学名は Campanula
poscharskyana。英名は Serbian bellflower。
Serbian bellflower (Campanula poscharskyana) belongs to Campanulaceae
(the Bellflower family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Dalmatia in
Croatia, along the Adriatic Sea. This herb grows fast and spreads by
rhizomes. It is much branched at basevand can reach 15-30 cm in height.
The flowers are star-shaped, lavender and small, and bloom June to
November. The specific epithet is named after 19th German horticulturist
Gustav Poscharsky.
