 
 中国の雲南・四川・湖北省からヒマラヤ、それに台湾と広く分布して
います。蔓性で他の樹木などによじ登り、長さは５〜１０メートルにな
ります。晩春から初夏にかけて、白い花を咲かせます。花色がピンク
色のものは、「ルーベンス（Clematis montana var. rubens）」と呼ばれま
す。写真中４・下は、園芸品種の「プリムローズスター（cv. Primrose
Star）」。
キンポウゲ科センニンソウ属の落葉多年草で、学名は Clematis
montana。英名は Anemone clematis, Indian's virgin's bower。
Anemone clematis (Clematis montana) belongs to the Ranunculaceae (the
Buttercup family). It is a deciduous perenial herb that is native from Hubei
to Sichuan, Yunnan of China to the Himalayas and Taiwan. This herb is a
vine, climbs up adjacent trees, and can reach 5-10 m long. The white
flowers bloom from late spring to early summer. The pink flower color
variety is called "Rubens".
