 
 わが国の沖縄県以南から東南アジア、オーストラリアそれにニュー
カレドニアに分布しています。マングローブの林や海岸に生え、蔓性
で他の樹木に巻きついて伸びます。葉は卵形から披針形で対生し、
光沢があります。茎の先端に総状花序をだし、鮮やかな黄色い花を
咲かせます。温度さえあれば、周年開花します。
キントラノオ科コウシュンカズラ属の常緑低木で、学名は Tristellateia
australasiae。英名は Vining milkweed, Maiden's jealousy。
Vining milkweed (Tristellateia australasiae) belongs to the Malpighiaceae
family. It is a small evergreen tree that is distributed southward from
Okinawa prefecture to Southeast Asia, Australia and New Caledonia. This
tree grows in mangrove estuaries and seashores, and twines around other
trees. The leaves are ovate to lanceolate, glossy and arranged in opposite.
The racemes are borne on the terminal stems, and the bright yellow flowers
bloom year around if the temperature keeps comfortable.
