The Kamchatka lily (Fritillaria camtchatcensis) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is distriuted from Hokkido to central and northern Honshu in Japan, as well as widely to Siberia, Alaska and North America. This herb grows in grasslands of cold regions and can reach 50-80 cm in height. The leaves are lanceolate to elliptic and 3-5 whorled. The dark purple, broad bell-shaped flowers come in June and July. The flowers have bad odor.
