 
 インド北部からマレーシアが原産です。高さは１０〜２０メートルになり
ます。２月から４月ごろに、枝先に大きな円錐花序をつけ、黄色また
はうす紅色の花を咲かせます。同じ花序に雄花、雌花それに両生花
が混じり、２〜３か月後に、数個が結実します。
ウルシ科マンゴー属の常緑高木で、学名は Mangifera indica。
英名は Mango。
Mango (Mangifera indica) belongs to Anacardiaceae (Sumac family). It is
an evergreen tall tree that is native from northern India to Malaysia. This
tree can reach 10-20 m in height. The large panicles are borne at the end of
branches and bloom yellow or pale rose-pink flowers from January to
April. The male, female and bisexual flowers are arranged in a cluster, and
the several fruits ripen after 2-3 months of flowering.
