オーストラリアの東部に分布しています。海岸地帯の砂地の荒れ地に生え、高さは３〜７メートルほどになります。小枝は角ばり、無毛です。葉は線状披針形または卵形で、縦の葉脈が目立ちます。冬から早春にかけて、ブラシ状の花序をだして黄色い花を咲かせます。

ネムノキ科アカシア属の常緑低木で、学名は Acasia longifolia。英名は Sydney golden wattle、Long-leaved wattle。

The Sydney golden wattle (Acasia longifolia) belongs to Mimosaceae (the Mimosa family). It is a small evergreen tree that is native to eastern Australia. This tree grows on sandy waste grounds and it can reach 3-7 m in height. The sprays are angular and glabrous. The leaves are linear-lanceolate or ovate and heavily longitudial veined. The brush-shaped clusters are borne and bloom yellow flowers from winter to early spring.
