 南アフリカのケープ州に分布しています。高さは１０〜２０センチほど
ですが、地面を這って広がります。葉は箆形で多肉質です。４月から
６月ごろ、カラフルな大きな花を咲かせます。花は直径４センチほど
もあり、陽光のあるときだけ開きます。別名で「べにはり（紅波璃）」と
も呼ばれます。
ツルナ科ドロテアンツス属の一年草で、学名は Dorotheanthus
bellidiformis。英名は Livingstone daisy。
Livingstone daisy belongs to Aizoaceae (Ice plant family). It is an annual
herb that is native to Cape Province of South Africa. This herb can reach
10-20 cm in height and spreads by creeping on the grounds. The leaves are
spatulate and succulent. Large colourful flowers come in April to June. The
flowers about 4 cm in diameter open flatly when getting the sun.
