The apple 'Alps Otome' (Malus domestica cv. Alps Otome) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a tall deciduous tree that is a variety of cultivated and selected by Mr. Kunio Hatakoshi of Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture in 1964 in a mixed planting of "Fuji" and "Jonathan". The fruits are oval and 25-50 grams of mini apples. The flesh is a little hard, but it has a high sugar content and a suitable acidity, so it can be eaten raw or used as a raw material for candy apples in food stalls.
