ヨーロッパから西アジアに分布しています。道ばたや河岸の堤防、海岸近くなどに生え、高さは６０〜９０センチになります。茎は四角形でしなやかで強く、葉は線形で、６〜８個が輪生します。７月から８月ごろ、茎の先や上部の葉腋に円錐状の花序だし、小さな黄色い花をいっぱい咲かせます。 |

アカネ科ヤエムグラ属の多年草で、学名は Galium verum。英名は Lady's bedstraw、Yellow spring bedstraw。 |

The Lady's bedstraw (Galium verum) belongs to Rubiaceae (the Madder family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from Europe to West Asia. This herb grows on roadsides, riverbanks, and near the coast, and can reach 60-90 cm in height. The stems are square, supple and strong, the leaves are linear, and 6 to 8 whorled. From July to August, conical inflorescences are borne on the tips of the stems and the upp er axils, and many small yellow flowers bloom. |
