せいようみみなぐさ (西洋耳菜草)

ヨーロッパから北アフリカ、それにアジアの温帯地域や北アメリカに広く分布しています。山地帯から亜高山帯の道ばたや草地などに生え、高さは４０センチほどになります。葉は狭披針形で対生し、全縁です。全体にわずかに毛が生えます。４月から８月ごろ、茎頂に花序をだし、直径２センチほどの白色の花を咲かせます。花弁の先端は２深裂します。

ナデシコ科ミミナグサ属の多年草で、学名は Cerastium arvense。英名は Field chickweed, Field mouse-ear chickweed。

The Field chickweed (Cerastium arvense) belongs to Caryophyllaceae (the Carnation family). It is a perennial herb that is widely distributed from Europe to North Africa, temperate regions of Asia and North America. This herb grows in rodesides and grasslands in mountainous areas to subalpine areas, and is about 40 cm high. The leaves are narrow lanceolate and opposite, and are entire. Hair grows slightly throughout. From April to August, inflorescences are borne on the shoot apex and bloom white flowers with a diameter of about 2 cm. The tip of the petal splits 2 deeply.
