わが国の本州、関東地方南部以西から近畿地方の太平洋側、それに四国・九州に分布しています。おもに石灰岩地の林縁などに生え、長さは５メートルほどになります。葉は３出複葉、小葉は卵形で３中裂します。４月から５月ごろ、新枝の葉腋から花柄を伸ばし、広鐘形の淡黄緑色を帯びた白い花を咲かせます。花弁のように見えるのは４個の萼片です。 |

キンポウゲ科センニンソウ属の落葉小低木で、学名は Clematis williamsii。英名はありません。 |

"Shirobana-hansho-zuru" (Clematis williamsii) belongs to Ranunculaceae (the Buttercup family). It is a deciduous shrub that is distributed westward from the Pacific Ocean Side of southern Kanto district to Kinki district of Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu in Japan. This shrub grows mainly in forest edges on calcareous places, and can reach about 5 m long. The leaves are trifoliate with intermediate trilobate, ovate leaflets. The peduncles are borne at the axils of new branches, the pale yellowish green tinged, white and broad campanulate flowers bloom from April to May. The corolla has four petaloid sepals. |
