しこんのぼたん・リトルエンジェル

ブラジル原産の「しこんのぼたん（Tibouchina urvilleana）」の園芸品種です。耐寒性があり、暖地で降霜がなければ屋外での植栽ができます。高さは１〜３メートルほどになり、葉は狭楕円形で葉脈が目立ちます。９月から１２月ごろ、花色の変化する花をつぎつぎと咲かせます。はじめは中心部が白色で外側が淡紫色ですが、しだいに全体がピンク色となり、さらに赤紫色へと変化します。同時に花色の異なる花がつくことから、「さんしょくのぼたん（三色野牡丹）」の別名があります。 |

ノボタン科シコンノボタン属の常緑小低木で、学名は Tibouchina cv. Little Angel。英名は Glorybush 'Little Angel'。 |

The Glorybush 'Little Angel' (Tibouchina cv. Little Angel) belongs to Melastmataceae (the Melastome family). It is an evergreen shrub that is a cultivar of "Glorybush" (Tibouchina urvilleana) native to Brazil. It is cold-resistant and can be planted outdoors in warm climates without frost. The height is about 1 to 3 m, and the leaves are narrow elliptic and the veins are conspicuous. From September to December, flowers with changing flower colors bloom one after another. At first, the center is white and the outside is light purple, but gradually the whole becomes pink and then changes to magenta. At the same time, flowers with different flower colors are produced, so there is another name for "Sanshoku-nobotan" in Japan. |
