ブラジルのリオグランデ・ド・スル州が原産です。農地の中の平らな岩の多い地形に生え、高さは２０センチほどになります。茎は光沢のある濃緑色で、球形またはずんぐりしていて、高さは１２センチ、直径１７センチまでになり、１２〜１６個の稜があります。中棘はふつうなく、縁棘はおよそ６個のクモ毛に似て、白色から灰色をおび、長さ１０〜３０ミリです。赤ワイン色から濃い赤紫色の花は短い漏斗形で、直径５センチほど、春から初夏に咲きます。 |

サボテン科ノトカクツス属の球形サボテンで、学名は Notocactus uebelmannianus。英名はありません。 |

The Notocactus uebelmannianus belongs to Cactaceae (the Cactus family). It is a ball cuctus that is native to Brazil in the area of Rio Grande Do Sul. It grows in flattened rocky terrains amongst agricultural land, and can reach about 20 cm in height. The stem is shiny dark green, globular or squatty, and up to 12 cm tall and 17 cm in diameter, with 12-16 ribs. The central spines are usually absent, and the radial spines are about 6 spider-like, white to grayish, 10 to 30 mm long. The wine red to deep magenta flowers are short funnel-form, about 5 cm in diameter, and bloom from spring to early summer. |
