	タイワンレンギョウ属は、北アメリカ南部から南アメリカにかけて３６種が分布しています。この「たいわんれんぎょう」は、熱帯アメリカが原産です。高さは４～６メートルになり、基部からよく分枝します。枝垂れた枝先に総状花序をつけ、淡い紫色の花を咲かせます。黄色い果実は、長く枝に残ります。写真中１～３は、花色が濃紫色で園芸品種の「宝塚（cv. Takarazuka）」。
	クマツヅラ科タイワンレンギョウ属の常緑低木で、学名は Duranta repens。英名は Sky flower、Golden dew drop。
	The sky flower (Duranta repens) belongs to Verbenaceae (the Verbena family). The Duranta genus is distributed from southern North America to South America, and consists of 36 species. The Sky flower is native to the tropic America. This tree is much branched at the base and can reach 4-6 m in height. The racemes are borne at the drooping terminal branches and produce pale purple flowers. The yellow fruits remain on the branches for a long time.
