とうかいすみれ (東海菫) [Index] [Back] わが国の本州、神奈川県西部以西から四国の太平洋側に分布しています。山地帯（ブナ帯）に生え、高さは３〜５センチになります。葉は長さ１〜２センチの心形で粗い鋸歯があり、裏面は淡緑色で紫色を帯びません。４月から５月ごろ、花茎を伸ばして、淡紫色の花を咲かせます。花弁の表面には淡紫色、裏面には紫色の筋が入ります。 スミレ科スミレ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Viola tokaiensis。英名はありません。 "Tokai-sumire" (Viola tokaiensis) belongs to Violaceae (the Viola family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to westward from western Kanagawa prefecture to the Pacific Ocean Side of Honshu and Shikoku, Japan. This herb grows in montane zone (beech forest) and can reach 3-5 cm in height. The leaves are cordate 1-2 cm long with coarse teeth, and the reverse sides are pale green, not tinged purplish. The pale purple flowers come on the stalks from April to May. The petals have pale purple stripes on the surface, and purple stripes on the reverse side.
