わが国の各地に分布する「うめばちそう（梅鉢草）」の１品種で、鹿児島県の屋久島の固有種です。宮之浦岳の中腹、花之江河（はなのえご）などの高層湿原に生えています。８月から１０月ごろ、白色に緑色の筋のある花を咲かせます。

ユキノシタ科ウメバチソウ属の多年草で、学名は Parnassia palustris var. multiseta f. minima。英名はありません。

"Yakushima-umebachi-so" (Parnassia palustris var. multiseta f. minima) belongs to Saxifragaceae (the Saxifrage family). It is a perennial herb that is a form of "Umebachi-so" distributed in various parts of Japan and is endemic to Yakushima in Kagoshima Prefecture. It grows in high-rise marshes such as Hanano-ego on the hillside of Mt. Miyanoura. From August to October, white with green streaks bloom.
