 わが国をはじめ、アジアやヨーロッパ、北アメリカなどに分布するユリ
属を原種として改良された園芸品種群です。世界各地で育種が行わ
れ、膨大な品種数があります。このためイギリス王立園芸協会では、
園芸区分として９群の系統に分類しています。「アジアティックハイブ
リッド（アジア原産種の交配品種）」や「オリエンタルハイブリッド（わが
国固有種の交配品種）」などが有名です。
ユリ科ユリ属の多年草で、学名は Lilium cv.（品種群の総称）。
英名は Lily。
Lily belongs to liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is cultivar
groups breeding from the various species of Lilium genus (native to Japan,
Asia, Europe and North America). These hybrids have been breeded in all
over the world, and there are enormous species. As a result, they are
classified in 9 horticultural groups by the Royal Horticutural Society. The
Asiatic-hybrid (cross between Asian species) and the Oriental-hybrid
(cross between Japanese species) are well known.
