The Echeveria coccinea belongs to Crassulaceae (the Orpine family). It is an evergreen herb that is native to the state of Hidalgo in northern Mexico. It is a succulent plant, growing up to 60 cm tall. The leaves are elliptic, about 10 cm long, and covered with soft hairs. In spring, it produces long flower stalks and orange flowers. It requires a lot of water in spring and summer, but little in winter.
