ベッビア・ユンケア [Index] [Back] アメリカ南西部とメキシコ北部に分布しています。砂漠の砂がちの低地や砂利だけの斜面に生え、高さは６０〜１５０センチになります。茎は直立し、よく分枝して広がります。葉は線形から狭三角形で鋸歯があり、対生します。頭花は円盤状花冠（筒状花だけの花冠）で黄色、春から夏にかけて、多くの枝に一個ずつ咲きます。花には甘い香りがあります。果実は痩果で毛があり、こん棒状をしています。 キク科ベッビア属の多年草で、学名は Bebbia juncea。英名は Sweetbush。 The sweetbush (Bebbia juncea) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a shrub that is distributed to the south-western United States and northern Mexico. This shrub grows in sandy washes and gravelly slopes of deserts, and can reach 60-150 cm in height. The stem is erect, much-branched and spreading. The leaves are linear to narrowly triangular, toothed and arranged in opposite. The flower-heads are discoid (disk flowers), yellow, borne singly on the many branches from spring to summer. The flowers have a sweet scent.
