べにばなせんぶり (紅花千振) [Index] [Back] ヨーロッパや西アジア、アフリカ北部が原産です。また北アメリカの一部やオーストラリア東部にも帰化しています。疎林や牧草地、乾燥した草原などに生え、高さは３０〜５０センチになります。葉は淡い緑色の長楕円形またはくさび形で、茎に対生します。花は小さな桃ふじ色で、花冠は平たく黄色い葯があり、６月から９月まで咲きます。ヨーロッパでは民間薬として利用されています。 リンドウ科シマセンブリ属の一年草または二年草で、学名は Centaurium erythraea。英名は European centaury。 The European centaury (Centaurium erythraea) belongs to Gentianaceae (the Gentian family). It is an annual or biennial herb that is native to Europe and western Asia and northern Africa. It has also naturalised in parts of North America and eastern Australia. This herb grows in open woods, meadows and dry grasslands, and it can reach 30-50 cm in height. The leaves are pale green, oblong or wedge-shapedくさび形, and arranged oppositely on the stem. The flowers are petite pinkish-lavender, flat-faced with yellow anthers, and bloom from June until September.
