中国の南部からインド北部に分布しています。明るい林の中や林縁に生え、高さは１〜２メートルになります。枝や葉には臭気があります。葉は広卵形で対生し、不揃いの鋸歯があります。７月から９月ごろ、枝先に集散花序をだし、淡紅紫色の花を咲かせます。

クマツヅラ科クサギ属の落葉低木で、学名は Clerodendrum bungei。英名は Glory flower。

The glory flower (Clerodendrum bungei) belongs to Verbenaceae (the Verbena family). It is a small deciduous tree that is native from southern China to northern India. This tree grows in open woodlands or forest edges and can reach 1-2 m in height. The branches and leaves have a characteristic odor. The leaves are broad ovate and opposite with irregular toothed edges. The cymes are borne on the terminal branches and the pale magenta flowers bloom from July to September.
