わが国の本州から四国・九州に分布する「えいざんすみれ(叡山菫)」と本州から四国に分布する「ながばのすみれさいしん(長葉の菫細辛)」との自然交雑種です。この両種が近距離に分布する場所に、突発的に発生します。葉は披針形で縁が深く切れ込むのが特徴です。4月ごろ、淡い紫色の花を咲かせます。 
スミレ科スミレ属の多年草で、学名は Viola eizanensis x Viola bissetii。英名はありません。 
"Fugire-nagabano-sumire-saishin" (Viola eizanensis x Viola bissetii) belongs to Violaceae (the Viola family). It is a perennial herb that is a natural hybrid between "Eizan-sumire" (Viola eizanensis) distributed from Honshu to Shikoku and Kyushu in Japan and "Nagabano-sumire-saishin" (Viola bissetii) distributed from Honshu to Shikoku. This herb occurs suddenly in places where both species are distributed in a short distance. The leaves are lanceolate and feature deep cuts at the edges. The pale purple flowers come in April.
