わが国の本州北中部の亜高山帯にだけに分布しています。日当たりのよい湿った草原に生え、群落を形成します。高さは３０〜５０センチになり、葉は５深裂して、さらに羽片は３出状に中裂します。秋には美しく紅葉します。７月から８月ごろ、白色に近いものから濃いピンク色までの花を咲かせます。花弁に縦の縞模様があるのが特徴です。 |

フウロソウ科フウロソウ属の多年草で、学名は Geranium yesoense var. nipponicum。英名はありません。 |

The "Hakusan-fuuro" (Geranium yesoense var. nipponicum) belongs to Geraniaceae (the Geranium family). It is a perennial herb that is endemic to Japan and distributed to central and north Honshu. This herb grows in sub-alpine sunny wet grasslands, forms clumps and can reach 30-50 cm in height. The leaves are five partite and the lobes are intermediate trilobate.The leaves turn red in fall. The whitish to dark pink flowers appear from July to August. The petals have conspicuous deep pink stripes. |
