フウロソウ科フウロソウ属の多年草で、学名は Geranium yesoense var. nipponicum。英名はありません。
The "Hakusan-fuuro" (Geranium yesoense var. nipponicum) belongs to Geraniaceae (the Geranium family). It is a perennial herb that is endemic to Japan and distributed to central and north Honshu. This herb grows in sub-alpine sunny wet grasslands, forms clumps and can reach 30-50 cm in height. The leaves are five partite and the lobes are intermediate trilobate.The leaves turn red in fall. The whitish to dark pink flowers appear from July to August. The petals have conspicuous deep pink stripes.
