The Bottle cactus (Hatiora salicornioides) belongs to Cactaceae (the Cactus family). It is a treelike cuctus that is native to eastern Brazil. It grows in humid tropical biomes and epiphytically on trees. Instead of leaves, it has dense, rod-like stems. The stems are divided into multiple segments 2-5 cm long, with each segment narrowing at the base. Roots may also emerge from these segments, which can branch into up to six branches. Flowers appear at the tips of young nodes, shaped like bells and colored yellow or bright salmon pink. After flowering, translucent white fruits form.
