わが国の各地をはじめ、千島列島やカムチャッカ半島に分布しています。亜高山帯の草地に生え、高さは２０〜４０センチになります。葉狭い長楕円形で、茎の下部に１個つき、上部には鱗片葉が２〜３個つきます。７月から８月ごろ、茎頂に穂状花序をだし、黄緑色の花を咲かせます。距は長さ１２〜１８ミリ、細い管状で下方へ曲がります。

ラン科ツレサギソウ属の多年草で、学名は Platanthera tipuloides。英名は Aleutian bog orchid。

The Aleutian bog orchid (Platanthera tipuloides) belongs to Orchdaceae (the Orchid family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Japan, the Kuril Islands and the Kamchatska Peninsula. This herb grows in sub-alpine grasslands and can reach 20-40 cm in height. The leave are narrow oblong and basal, and the 2-3 scaly leaves are arranged on the upper stem. The spike is borne on the stem apices and bloom yellowish green flowers from July to August. The spurs are slender tubular, 12-18 mm long and hooked downward.
