The Wax plant (Hoya bilobata) belongs to Asclepiadaceae (the Milkweed family). It is an evergreen shrub that is distributed in the Philippines. It grows in humid tropical biomes and is found on trees and rocks. It is also a vine, with stems reaching 2 to 3 m in length. The leaves are round or broadly elliptical, leathery, and glossy on the surface. Umbels appear at the top of the stem, producing fragrant, dark red flowers. The corolla is small, only 6 to 7 mm in diameter.
