The Pastel flower (Pseuderanthemum variabile) belongs to Acanthaceae (the Acanthus family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is found in northern and eastern Australia, from the Northern Territory to Queensland and New South Wales. It grows in tropical rainforests and sclerophyll forests near the coast and is 15 to 30 cm tall. The leaves are lanceolate to ovate, decussate, and almost entire. From December to May, white to light purple tubular flowers bloom in panicles at the top of the stem.
