Pavonia intermedia

Pavonia x gledhillii)。
The Pavonia intermedia belongs to Malvaceae (the Mallow family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to Brazil. It grows to about 1.5 m tall and has scattered branches. It produces flowers in panicles, but the bright red bracts are conspicuous, and the petals are dark purple. The flower style is long and protruding. It is thought to be an interspecific hybrid between the "Pavonia hastata" and the "Pavonia multiflora".
