「めキャベツ」と「ケール」との交配によって、１９９０年に増田採種場で作出されました。「非結球めキャベツ」の一種です。かたちは「めキャベツ」と同じように見えますが、葉は結球せずに、小さな葉がバラの花のような形でつきます。糖度も高く、食べた時に甘味を感じる葉物野菜です。収穫時期は「めキャベツ」とほぼ同じで、１１月下旬頃から始まり、３月頃まで続きます。名前は、フランス語で小さな緑を意味します。

The Petit vert (Brassica oleracea cv. Petit vert) belongs to Brassiaceae (the Mustard family). It is a biennial herb that was bred at Masuda Seed in 1990 by crossbreeding "Brussels sprouts" and "Kale". It is a type of "non-heading Brussels sprouts". It has the same shape as the "Brussels sprouts", but the leaves do not head, and the small leaves are shaped like a rose flower. It is a leafy vegetable with a high sugar content and a sweet taste when eaten. Harvest time is almost the same as that of "Brussels sprouts", starting around late November and continuing until around March. Its name means "little green" in French.
