オーストラリア東部のニューサウスウェールズ州に分布しています。森林地帯の湿潤なところに生え、高さは１〜１．５メートルほどになります。葉は線形で非常に狭く、明確な特徴となっています。ブラシのような花はふつう緑色ですが、赤花のものも野生で、あるいは栽培においてもときどき見ることができます。「ほそばぶらしのき（Callistemon linearis）」といくつかの共通点があり、ときおり同じ場所に生育していることがあります。

フトモモ科ブラシノキ属の常緑低木で、学名は Callistemon pinifolius。英名は Pine-leaved bottlebrush。

The pine-leaved bottlebrush (Callistemon pinifolius) belongs to Myrtaceae (the Myrtle family). It is a small evergreen tree that is distributed to New South Wales in eastern Australia. This tree grows in wet forests and woodlands and can reach 1-1.5 m in height. The leaves are very narrow linear and they can be easily identified. The brushes are usually green but red flowering forms can be seen sometimes in the wild and in cultivation. This species has some similarity with Callistemon linearis and sometimes occurs in the same locations.
