ヨーロッパ南部の地中海沿岸に分布しています。蔓性で長さは３〜６メートルになり、他の樹木などに絡みつきます。葉は３出複葉から２回３出複葉で光沢があり、縁には粗い鋸歯がみられます。晩秋から早春にかけて、直径３センチほどのベル形の花を咲かせます。花弁のようにみえる萼片はクリーム色で、濃い黄白色の斑点が入ります。常緑ですが、真夏には一時休眠します。 |

キンポウゲ科センニンソウ属の常緑小低木で、学名は Clematis cirrhosa。英名は Winter clematis。 |

The Winter clematis (Clematis cirrhosa) belongs to Ranunculaceae (the Buttercup family). It is an evergreen shrub that is distributed along the Mediterranean coast of southern Europe. It is a 3-6 m long vine that tangles itself around other trees and plants. The leaves are triternate compound to 2 times triternate compound, shiny, and have rough serrations on the edges. Bell-shaped flowers, about 3 cm in diameter, bloom from late fall to early spring. The sepals, which look like petals, are cream-colored with dark yellowish-white spots. It is evergreen, but goes dormant temporarily in midsummer. |
