オーストラリアが原産です。高さは６０センチほどになり、線形から披針形の葉は銀白色の毛に被われます。５月から６月ごろ、花茎を伸ばして球形の花序をつけ、黄色い花を咲かせます。写真は園芸品種の「ゴールドスティック（cv. Gold Stick）」。色が変わらないのでドライフラワーにも利用されます。

キク科クラスペディア属の多年草で、学名は Craspedia globosa。英名は Drumstick。

The Drumstick (Craspedia globosa) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Australia. It grows to about 60 cm tall, and its linear to lanceolate leaves are covered with silvery-white hairs. The photos show the garden variety 'Gold Stick'. It is also used for dried flowers because it does not change color.
