わが国の奄美大島以南から東南アジアに分布しています。海岸沿いに生え、高さは３〜８メートルくらいになります。葉は奇数羽状複葉で、小葉は倒卵形です。夏、芳香のある小さな白い花を咲かせます。果実は赤く熟し、生食用やジャムに利用されます。台湾華語では「千里香」、中国語では「千里香（qian li xiang）」と呼ばれます。 |

ミカン科ゲッキツ属の常緑小高木で、学名は Murraya paniculata (syn. Murraya paniculata var. exotica)。英名は Orange jasmine。 |

The Orange jasmine (Murraya paniculata) belongs to Rutaceae (the Citrus family). It is a semi-tall evergreen tree that is distributed from Amami Oshima in Japan south to Southeast Asia. It grows along the coast and up to a height of 3-8 m. The leaves are odd-pinnate compound with obovate leaflets. The small white flowers with fragrant bloom in summer. The fruits ripen in red and are used for raw food and jam. In Taiwanese Chinese, it is called "千里香" and "千里香" (qian li xiang) in Chinese. |
