中国原産で、わが国でも垣根用に古くから栽培されてきた「こうしんばら（庚申薔薇）」の亜種です。四季咲きで、花は緑色の小さな八重咲きです。花には花弁がなく、たくさんの萼片があります。満開のときには、赤味を帯びます。別名で「せいか（青花）」とも呼ばれるそうです。 |

バラ科バラ属の常緑小低木で、学名は Rosa chinensis ssp. viridiflora。英名は Green rose。 |

The green rose (Rosa chinensis ssp. viridiflora) belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to China. It is a sub-species of "China rose" which was introduced in Japan and has been cultivated as a hedge plant from long ago. This rose is everblooming, small, green, double-flowered variety. The flower lacks petals, having instead many petallike sepals. It is tinged reddish when full bloom. |
