ギムノカリキウム・デヌダツム [Index] [Back] 南アメリカのブラジルやアルゼンチン、パラグアイそれにウルグアイが原産です。小さな球形でふつう分枝せず、光沢のある濃い緑色の体と、丸い肋があります。直径１５センチ、高さは１０センチになります。棘はほとんど無害、小さな白いクモのようで、体に対して平たくつきます。花は大きく黄白色、直径７センチ以上になり、春と夏に咲きます。写真は園芸品種の「ヤンスバ（cv. Jan Suba）」。  サボテン科ギムノカリキウム属の球形サボテンで、学名は Gymnocalycium denudatum。英名は Spider cactus。  The spider cactus (Gymnocalycium denudatum) belongs to Cactaceae (the Cactus family). It is a globular cactus that is native to South America, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. It is small globular usually unbranched with glossy dark green body and rounded ribs. It grows up to 15 cm in diameter and 10 cm tall. The spines are nearly harmless, flattened against body in shape of small, white spiders. The flowers are large cream white, that are up to 7 cm wide, and bloom in spring and summer.
