マダガスカル原産のミニアタ種とポルフィロカリクス種との交配によって、オランダで作出されました。高さは、30〜40センチになります、葉は淡い緑色の多肉質で、円鋸歯があります。1月から2月ごろ、濃い赤紫色のベル型で、花弁の先が黄色の花を咲かせます。園芸上は「ウェンディ」と呼ばれます。 
ベンケイソウ科リュウキュウベンケイ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Kalanchoe miniata cv. Wendy。英名は Kalanchoe 'Wendy'。 
The Kalanchoe 'Wendy' (Kalanchoe miniata cv. Wendy) belongs to Crassulaceae (the Orpine family). It is an evergreen herb that was produced in the Netherlands by crossing the Kalanchoe miniata and the Kalanchoe porphyrocalyx, native to Madagascar. This herb grows up to a height of 30-40 cm. The leaves are pale green fleshy and have rounded serrations. The deep reddish-purple bell-shaped flowers bloom from January to February. The corolla has yellow tips. In horticulture, it is called "Wendy".
