わが国の固有種で、本州中部の北アルプスと御嶽山に分布しています。高山帯の日当たりが良い礫地や岩場に生え、高さは２〜５センチになります。上部の葉は全縁ですが、下部の葉は先端が３浅裂します。短い腺毛が生えています。７月から８月ごろ、花茎をのばして白い花を咲かせます。

ユキノシタ科ユキノシタ属の多年草で、学名は Saxifraga merkii var. idsuroei。英名はありません。

"Kumoma-gusa" (Saxifraga merkii var. idsuroei) belongs to Saxifragaceae (the Saxifrage family). It is a perennial herb that is endemic to Japan and is distributed in the Northern Alps and Mt. Ontake of central Honshu. It grows in sunny gravelly or rocky areas in the alpine zone and is 2 to 5 cm tall. The upper leaves are entire, but the lower leaves have three shallow lobes at the tip. The white flowers bloom from July to August on extended flower stalks.
