The white blood lily (Haemanthus albiflos) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is an evergreen herb that is native to South Africa. This herb has a spherical bulb and a height of about 20 cm. The leaves are thick and fleshy. The flowering stalk is borne and paintbrush-like white flowers bloom from September to November. The stamens have yellow tips and the pistils are cloven tips.
