ヨーロッパの南西部から西アジアに分布しています。山地の茂みや斜面などに生え、高さは30〜60センチになります。葉は羽状に深裂し、夏から秋にかけて「マーガレット」のような白い花を咲かせます。ハーブティーに利用され、解熱や消炎効果があるそうです。園芸品種も多く、一重咲きや八重咲き、ポンポン咲きなどがあります。黄色の花色もあり、園芸上は「マトリカリア」とも呼ばれます。写真中4は、園芸品種の「ゴールデンモス(Golden Moss)」。 
キク科ヨモギギク属の多年草で、学名は Tanacetum parthenium。英名は Feverfew。 
The feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is native from southwestern Europe to western Asia. This herb grows in montane scrubs or slopes and it can reach 30-60 cm in height. The leaves are pinnatipartite and the Marguerite-like white flowers come from summer to fall. The plant is used for herbal teas and has antipyretic or antiflash property. There are many cultivars with various flower types; single, double or pompon blossoms. The fifth photo is a cultivar 'Golden Moss'.
