The Red Robin (Photinia x fraseri'Red Robin') belongs to Rosaceae (the Rose family). It is a small evergreen tree that is a cultivar produced in New Zealand by crossing "Japanese photinia" and "Taiwanese photinia". It is popular as a hedge because it grows fast and is resistant to pruning, and is now one of the most commonly found hedges in urban areas. The height will be 3 to 6 m. The leaves are slightly larger than "Japanese photinia" and the shoots are bright red. From May to June, the corymbs are full of small white flowers and bear red fruits in the fall.
