わが国の本州、奈良県以東から福島県に分布しています。山地の落葉樹林内に生え、高さは５０〜１００センチになります。葉は２〜４回３出複葉で、小葉は卵形でときに３裂し、粗い鋸歯があります。７月から８月ごろ、茎頂に総状花序をだし、淡い紅紫色の花を咲かせます。花弁状に見えるのは萼片です。

キンポウゲ科レンゲショウマ属の多年草で、学名は Anemonopsis macrophylla。英名はありません。

The "Renge-shoma" (Anemonopsis macrophylla) belongs to Ranunculaceae (the Buttercup family). It is a perennial herb that is native to eastward from Nara prefecture to Fukushima prefecture of Honshu, Japan. This herb grows in montane deciduous forests and can reach 50-100 cm in height. The leaves are twice to fourth 3-lobed compound, the leaflets are ovate and divided into 3 segments with coarse teeth. The pale magenta flowers come in the apical racemes from July to August. The sepals look like petals.
