南アメリカのベネズエラが原産です。高地の冷涼な林内に生え、着生します。葉は卵形で、葉柄は広がった葉鞘に被われています。葉の裏面から花茎を伸ばし、1花を咲かせます。側萼片は合着し、カラフルでくぼんだ合萼片(唇弁)を形成しています。
ラン科レストレピア属の常緑多年草で、学名は Restrepia striata。英名はありません。
The Restrepia striata belongs to Orchidaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen perennial herb that is native to Venezuela. This orchid is an epiphyte and grows in high and cool forests. The leaves are ovate and the leaf stems are covered with dilated sheaths. The flower is single, commonly rising up from the back surface of leaf. The lateral sepals are connate into a colorful broadly concave synsepal (lip).
